Ipsy GlamBag - June 2013

Another month another GlamBag, and another month that Ipsy delivers a great bag. This months bag was adorable. The theme was "On the Wild Side" the bag was perfect for it.

I love the spray on dry shampoo, and I know this brand has been along for ages. I can't wait to try this one.

This lip liner is beautiful. I have it next to the swatch from the lip crayon I received in my June Birchbox, the color matches perfectly.

I've never tried purple eyeliner before, I'm sure it will complement my brown eyes really well. The built in brush is a nice touch.

The glitter is the only thing I was disappointed in. Its hard to get the glitter to show up as nice as in the pan. I need to try working with this a but more, I think I will have better luck with a flat synthetic bristle brush to pack it on.

All in all another great month from Ipsy.

Spring Fever VoxBox from Influenster

A few weeks ago I received a package from influenster, it was the Spring Fever VoxBox. This is my second VoxBox I've received from them. The first was last year, I also did a review/what's in my voxbox post about that one. This was a free box sent to me so that I can review and share my opinion of the products through my blog and other social media outlets.

This stuff is great, I've been using Secret for years. The only tip I have for this is, make sure when you put it on you give the gel enough time to dry before putting on your outfit.

I've never used in imPRESS nail designs before, but they work just as well as the Sally Hansen. Luckily my nails were short when I got these because if your nails are longer than the design then it won't work well for you. For shorter length nails I would say these are great, for longer nails I would recommend the Sally Hansen Strips. The do actually have cuter designs available, this one wasn't my favorite.

I don't really have much to say about this product. I used it a few times as a dry shampoo. I do prefer the spray kind rather than the powder. I will say that it does give you a bit a volume and I imagine it would work great with people with fine hair.

This stuff is awesome. Its a very sheer lip butter type lip balm. It gives you a slight lint of color that doesn't need much effort to apply. Perfect to just keep in your bag to just put on when your lips feel dry.

A little embarrassing to admit but this was my favorite thing in the box. The day my box came I was home sick. I was on the couch with a bunch of blankets just wanting something yummy to snack on. Its like the snack gods heard me because within the hour I had a knock on my door and my voxbox in hand. I had to quickly stop myself to take a picture of the snack, but it was gone quickly after. It hit the spot. They have a few other flavors like Hershey, and 'smore, but I'm happy with the one I got.

Birchbox June 2013 - The Final Birchbox

I finally did it! After months and months of disappointing boxes I said enough is enough. I canceled my Birchbox subscription. When I first saw what my box was going to be I got excited, the products seemed awesome. I was excited to try the products and especially excited to try my first Origins products. I had heard so many good things about the brand and was ready to try the moisturizer that I saw would be in my box. When I opened my box, I knew, that was it. I was done, when I saw the tiny ass foil packet that moisturizer was in, it was over. The thing I was most excited to try was a total fail. I went right on the site and hit cancel. If I see that they improve in their boxes I might rejoin, but not anytime soon.

REALLY

I feel like if I would have had 2 or three if these I could really get a feel for the product. This is something birchbox does too much. If they must give you foil packets, why don't they give you at least 2. They claim to give "premium" samples. This is not premium. The rest of my box was pretty good, but I can say this has been my best box since late last year. I don't see the value of spending the $10 a month for birchbox anymore.

BOXYCHARM May 2013

First let me begin by explaining a little bit about BoxyCharm. I saw a few girls on instagram had received a box for review and that made me want to check it out. BoxyCharm is a new monthly Subscription service similar to Birchbox and Ipsy.
This box cost $21 a month, and is filled with 5-6 fill sized products. Unlike other boxes this focuses on drugstore brands like Revlon, Covergirl, Rimmel, Sally Hansen, Essie etc.

My apologies in advance for the lighting in some of these pictures.

Let me say, I'm really impressed with my first box. My favorite item has to be the red lipstick from the Kate Moss for Rimmel collection, in number 11. I was really excited to see a small brush kit. The brushes are soft  and convenient but obviously not as high quality as other drugstore brushed like ecotools. Another product I was excited about was the Essie polish in meet me at sunset. I can see this polish on my toes all summer.

One last thing to note about Boxycharm, a lot of people have shown concern about the product they sent out. Boxy charm issued a statement on their instagram stating how they get their products. They purchase their products from the warehouses and third party vendors. In my opinion the boxes are kind of like when you go to an CCO. They take advantage of companies changing packing or having overstock items. For example if its spring, you might get Essie polish from the holiday collection or a polish they had overstock of. Boxycharm has assured us that every product they choose is hand selected by them and is not old or expired.

I personally have no issues with this concept, to me its the same as going to an CCO and getting a discount on an old MAC collection or Bobbi Brown concealer in old packaging (I've done both). I'm excited to see what next month brings.

UPDATE #3  The entire collection is available right now on Sephora.com

UPDATE #2  I spoke to a girl at Sephora, she said the collection will be available for sure August. She said she wasn't sure when it would be available online again. Her advice was to call Sephora August 1st and ask if its in yet.
UPDATE!! I've spotted the Ariel palette on sephora.com as a beauty insider exclusive. I didn't spot it soon enough because its sold out, but you can put your email to be contacted when it goes back in stock. Only the palette from the collection is available right now. keep your eyes open for more pieces of the collection. Follow me on twitter @sandy_noemy for any updates.

First Cinderella, then Jasmine and now Ariel. The 3rd Disney princess collection for Sephora was announced on Sephora TV yesterday. Disney Ariel Collection by Sephora.

I took a screen shot from the video for a closer look at the collection. I love the packaging and I can't wait to see them in person. They will be available online June 2013 and August 2013 in Sephora stores.
