Tiny CVS Haul - LE Color Tattoos and Instant Age Rewind Concealer

Yesterday, during lunch a drove down to the CVS next to my job. The plan was to only run in to get Advil ... well along with that Advil I picked out just a few things.

Maybelline was having a sale, spend $15 get $5 CVS bucks. I picked up a concealer and 2 of the limited edition Color Tattoos.

I picked up the Brightening shade, its a pinky color.

With no concealer ^

With concealer only on left eye in picture. Overall I was impressed with the way it actually did brighten my under eyes.

BOXYCHARM May 2013

First let me begin by explaining a little bit about BoxyCharm. I saw a few girls on instagram had received a box for review and that made me want to check it out. BoxyCharm is a new monthly Subscription service similar to Birchbox and Ipsy.
This box cost $21 a month, and is filled with 5-6 fill sized products. Unlike other boxes this focuses on drugstore brands like Revlon, Covergirl, Rimmel, Sally Hansen, Essie etc.

My apologies in advance for the lighting in some of these pictures.

Let me say, I'm really impressed with my first box. My favorite item has to be the red lipstick from the Kate Moss for Rimmel collection, in number 11. I was really excited to see a small brush kit. The brushes are soft  and convenient but obviously not as high quality as other drugstore brushed like ecotools. Another product I was excited about was the Essie polish in meet me at sunset. I can see this polish on my toes all summer.

One last thing to note about Boxycharm, a lot of people have shown concern about the product they sent out. Boxy charm issued a statement on their instagram stating how they get their products. They purchase their products from the warehouses and third party vendors. In my opinion the boxes are kind of like when you go to an CCO. They take advantage of companies changing packing or having overstock items. For example if its spring, you might get Essie polish from the holiday collection or a polish they had overstock of. Boxycharm has assured us that every product they choose is hand selected by them and is not old or expired.

I personally have no issues with this concept, to me its the same as going to an CCO and getting a discount on an old MAC collection or Bobbi Brown concealer in old packaging (I've done both). I'm excited to see what next month brings.

Birthday Beauty

beauty wish list

February is right around the corner. For most girls this means Valentine's Day, but for my it also means BIRTHDAY! I'm kind of unlucky this year because my birthday falls on a Wednesday, but i consider the whole month of February my birthday month. It gives me an excuse to be spoiled and justify any purchases that month.

I've come up with a few products that I think would give you the perfect V-day and for February babies, B-day look. All these products are also on my beauty wish list. I've had my eye on these products and really want to test them out and add them to my collection.

**Hint hint: gift ideas ahoy.

Stay tuned for swatches and reviews on any products I do receive or purchase during my birthday month.

Top Fall Drugstore Lip Colors

Its that time of year, the leaves are changing color the weather is getting colder, i even got to break out my Uggs this weekend. Fall is my favorite time of the year. Not only because of the weather but because of the fashion and beauty trends. I love my spring and summer hot pinks and corals but there is just something about the plum and berry colors that makes me this season.
Ive gone through my lip baskets in my vanity and i picked out a few that top my list for Fall/Winter. There are 2 categories here, actual lipsticks, and the cool new lip balm/gloss/stain kinda things that have been becoming popular.

I have 8 products, 4 in each category.
First we'll start off with hand swatches. I'm still working on what kind of lighting is going to work best with this kind of stuff so it should get better as i post more.

no lip products

In the lipstick category I have: Maybelline #410 Blissful Berry and 455 MAUVE-ULOUS, L'Oreal Infallible #737 Persistent Plum and Revlon Matte # 009 Fabulous Fig

Blissful Berry

mauve-ulous

Persistent Plum
Fabulous Fig (actually darker then shown and matte, weird flash)

In the gloss/balm/stain category there is Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters in 040 RedVelvet and 085 Sugar Plum, and Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains in 005 Crush and 030 Smitten.

The Lip Butters are very moisturizing, but need to be reapplied quite often, The Kissable Balm Stains are better in the fact that they are a stain and the color will stick with you, but the gloss won't, so i still reapply. Both are very buildable for a more vibrant color.

Red Velvet

Sugar Plum

Crush

Smitten

Out of all of them my number one right now would have to be L'Oreal Infallible #737 Persistent Plum. Its long lasting so it stays on for hours even while you eat, and is perfect for fall.
