Skincare Newbie.

It's getting to be that time. The weather is finally changing in Northern Virginia. Even though we had snow a week ago we are finally getting some warmer weather. I really hope Spring is upon us. With changing claimants comes changing skin. I've never been that great with being consistent with my skin care I often forget to use any skin care at all.
The only recommendation I have when it comes to skincare is, try the Clarisonic. I absolutely love that thing. They have become more affordable now since new models have been released. I have the original Mia, you can now purchase that one for under $100. With any cleanser I've tried I feel like its taken to the next level when I use my Clarisonic
Since I just turned 26 this year I think its time I step up my skin care game and actually get a skin care routine. I'll be honest, I really don't know much about the steps a skin care routine should have, if it was up to me I would just say, wash your face and then put lotion on it. Since I'm so clueless about skin care I love reading articles or watching youtube videos about skin care routines.
Last week an article was passed along to me from the HSN blog (I didn't even know they had one) that was all about nighttime skincare. I was actually very helpful because it gives you 4 things that should be a part of your skincare routine every night. They seem to be steps to take after cleansing your face at night.

Number 1: Serum- I've never owned a serum but I definitely want to try one.
Number 2: Facial Oil- This one was something I never thought of.
Number 3: Moisturizer- I'm still on the hunt for the right one for my skin.
Number 4: Eye Cream!- I think this one is a biggie for us ladies who want to look young longer.

If your interested in skincare stuff you should really check out this article on the HSN Blog. She even give a tip on an extra product to add a little extra pampering for your skin.  I'm definitely going to check out a few new products. Check out all the skin care available from HSN.  If you have any products you've tried you would recommend for me to try and or anything you see on the HSN site or sephora you want me to review please let me know and leave me a comment.

January 2014 Ipsy Bag

Long time no blog, I know. Work and school have been a little crazy, and I lost my camera for a few days. Enough excuses lets get the the post. I received my Ipsy bag a few days ago and I they've done it again, a nice bag with fun products to try out. For the first time in a long time, I didn't receive any full sized products. They don't promise a full size item in the bag, but there is usually one included.

This first product I'm actually excited to try. I usually hate foil samples, BUT I don't mind them when they give you a couple. That way you actually get to try the product more than once.

This product might not be enough for all my hair, but I'll make it work.

At first I was most excited about this product, the color was pretty, it had a nice velvet texture. Then after trying it on and taking a picture of the product on my lips; when I took it off I noticed a few bumps of the edge of mu top lip, near my cupids bow. I freaked out, I might be allergic to the product. I'm not willing to try it again to find out. Luckily the bumps were gone by morning.

My lips looked fine when I put it on.

This product is actually really pretty and is in my purse now.  Beautiful tear duct/ inner corner color.

I tried to take a picture of the liner, but my camera wasn't cooperating with me.

Sorry its been so long since my last post. I will do better on bringing you all more posts. :)

Mini Birthday Beauty HAUL

Last Thursday the bf and I went to the mall for some shopping and dinner. Since my birthday was in the middle of the week we didn't go out, we had dinner with my family at my house. It was go good, salmon and rice (one of my favorite dishes, besides Italian food). I also had an AMAZING cake and cupcakes. At the mall I got to pick out a few goodies from Zumies and Sephora. I will do a separate fashion birthday haul. Right now I'll just post the few things I got from Sephora.

I feel like right now i have lots of makeup so I tried to get a few skin care things.

Soap and Glory Pulp-Friction - I love Soap & Glory bath products they smell real nice and the packaging is so adorable. I've used their other other bath scrub, The scrub of your life, and I like this one better. I mostly like the smell over the other.

Clarins One step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser - I've heard lots of good things about this product and I figure, hey I'm 25 now, I should start taking care of my skin. I've only used it twice so I can't really see a difference in my skin yet, but using this paired with my clarisonic, I have high hopes.
One thing about this product that kind of caught be by surprise is how much product is lacking in the bottle. I always open the box check the bottles before I buy something just to make sure someone hasn't messed with it. I opened every box for the cleanser to make sure it wasn't a bad bottle I picked up.  The bottle is only about 75% full.

Clinique dramatically different moisturizing lotion - I've also heard good things about this product and the whole Clinique 3 step system in general. I decided to just try the moisturizer in mini form, and I wish I would have got the full size. I love this stuff so far. Makes my face really soft.

I couldn't go into Sephora without getting at least some makeup.

Urban Decay - De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray

Urban Decay De-Slick Oil Control Setting Spray - I've never tried a setting spray before so i got a mini size to see how it works. I haven't tried it yet. The one I got has the old packaging.

Urban Decay Naked Basics - I just had to get it.

Thank you Sephora for my Beauty insider birthday gift. This year they are doing a Benefit box with they're real mascara (not my fave) and Watt's UP (so excited to try this)

Before hitting the other stores I had to stop by Macy's and get a couple things from the Archie's Girls collection form MAC, I got one Veronica lipstick (Daddy's little girl) and one Betty lipstick (Betty Bright). I forgot to take pictures of those so I will post a separate mini post with swatches of those two.
