Chanel Les Beiges plus Holiday Le Brillant Glossimer Duo Set

My all time favorite Makeup brand would have to be Chanel. So, when I'm able to pick up a product or two at the Chanel counter its a huge treat. The Les Beiges powder has been on my wish list for a few months now.
The shade I got was number 50, I originally thought this color was on the darker side for my skin tone, but I found that these powders are pretty sheer and give you a nice finish.

I'm in love with the packaging for this line. The beige and black are just so chic and classic looking.

This is a heavy swatch of the color, it blends out so nicely for an airbrush look on top of your foundation or BB/CC cream.

So, while at the Macy's Chanel counter I saw they had a few holiday sets available. My favorite way to get new products is when they come in sets. I could not pass this up. They has a nail polish set and a lip  gloss set. I went for the gloss.

Along with the 2 glosses the gift set included a pencil sharpener and a mini Chanel lip liner in the color Nude.

I'm so happy with my Chanel pickups. These products do not disappoint.

December 2013 Ipsy Bag

It's that time again, my only surviving subscription box arrived. Month after month Ipsy has been good to me. After trying a few different sub boxes, I've left only the one I feel is the best one out there.

First off, I have to mention how nice the actual bag for this month is. I love the quilted leather look. This is one bag I actually plan on using.

This Pop beauty trio looks really nice. Since this sample is such a generous size a lot of people have been counting it as a full sized product. In fact, this would be considered a deluxe sample. This is a sample of the Pop Beauty 10 pan palettes, the shadow sizes are exactly the same. In the full size there are 10 shadows, which include these 3.
I'm not going to swatch these because I don't see myself using these colors, I would much rather save this product for maybe a future giveaway.

The NYX round lipsticks are amazing, they are pigmented they are creamy and they come in so many different shades. Again, I'm not going to swatch this one, this light pink is not my type of color so I'm stashing it away for a future giveaway.

Ok, I usually hate perfume samples, BUT I'm not too upset with this one. One, because they gave you two options, and Two, because of the size. The samples were a bit more generous compares to the average perfume sample. Unfortunately for me, the cap wasn't on tight enough and a good amount of the product evaporated. Also a plus, these samples had small caps on them, I thought that was a nice touch.

This is the size comparison of these samples to perfume
samples I've received from other sub boxes

This NICKA K polish brand is new to me, but its about at a drugstore price pont. I haven't swatched it, I would rather give this one away. I don't paint my nails anymore, and if I do it's gel. I'm just really bad at painting my own nails. The formula did seem a bit this and goopy.

This product was a bit exciting, the be a... bombshell's version of the Nars multiple. This product is marketed to be used on your cheeks, lips, and eyes. The color I got was a bit too red to use on my eyes, but there are lighter colors available of this product.

The product does blend nicely, I can see this as a nice spring/summer cheek color.

This is how much product you get in the tube.

I would say, another good month for Ipsy.

Sephora Favorites: Give Me More Lip

In my last post, I showed a few things I picked up from Sephora recently. A few of you wanted to know a bit more about the lip set. The Give me More Lip set comes with 16 different lip products. They are separated into 4 categories, Nudes, Pinks, Berries, and Reds. There is a nice mix of glosses and lipsticks. There is a smaller version similar to this set, its called Give Me Lip, both these sets are not available on the site right now, BUT I did see them at my local Sephora. Make sure you check out the Sephora near you, if you really want to get your hands on this set.

This set includes:
bareMinerals ® Marvelous Moxie™ Lipstick in Never Say Never
Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Pomegranate
BUXOM® Full-Bodied™ Lip Stick in Menance
BUXOM® Full-Bodied™ Lip Cream in White Russian
Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Icon
Kat Von D in Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick in Backstage Bambi
Kat Von D Foiled Love Lipstick in Adora
Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Bare Naked
Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural N45
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Strumpet
Smashbox Be Lengendary Lipstick in Nylon Nude
Smashbox Lip Gloss in Pout
Stila Color Balm Lipstick in Sonya
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lip Color in Dolce
Tarte Glmazon™ Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipstick in Inspired
Too Faced La Crème Color Drenched Lip Cream in Marshmallow Bunny
Let me give you guys a heads up, I temporarily lost my memory card, so I had to take the swatch pictures with my phone. Please forgive the odd picture quality.

The Nudes: I can start off by saying, I hate nude lips on me. I feel like I look dead. I only did lip swatched for two of these, the Smashbox Be Legendary lipstick in Nylon Nude, which I didn't like, and the Stila All Day Liquid Lip Color in Dolce, which I liked. The other two glosses where really sheer and looked like clear gloss on my lips.

L to R: Smashbox (Nylon Nude), Laura Mercier (Bare Naked), Buxom (White Russian)

The Pinks: This was more me. I liked the bareMinerals color BUT I liked the Kat Von D gloss better, they were basically the same color only the Kat Von D is matte. I love the feeling of the Kat gloss, for sure a formula I want to try in other colors.  Again, I didn't swatch the Smashbox gloss because it was clear on my lips.

L to R: bareMinerals (Never Say Never), Too Face (Marshmallow Bunny), Smashbox (Pout), Kat Von D (Backstage Bambi)

L to R: bareMinerals (Never Say Never), Too Face (Marshmallow Bunny),Kat Von D (Backstage Bambi), Smashbox (Pout)

The Berries: I was excited to try these because I love berry lips in the fall. My favorite of the bunch was the OCC Lip Tar in Strumpet (the last swatch). OCC Lip Tars are famous for their lasting power, and pigmentation, I only needed the smallest dot to get all that color payoff on my lips. The Buxom lipstick was nice and bold, I can imagine a simple face this bold lip and lots of lashes.

L to R: Tarte Glamazon (Inspired), Buxom (Menance), Stila (Sonya), OCC (Stumpet)

Loved the Tarte Glamazon lipstick as an everyday lip color.

The Reds: What better color for the holiday season. Red lips is my favorite going out, or holiday party look. My favorite would have to be the Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick on Icon, this gloss is so pigmented. Once you let it set, it won't budge. The Bite Beauty pencil is another fav, its just so easy to use, the point gives you a precise line. The Kat Von D lipstick was a bit metallic, and I wasn't very onto that. The MUFE lipstick was a bit more sheer and I think that would be great for a daytime red lip.
L to R: Make Up For Ever (N45), Kat Von D (Adora), Bite Beauty (Pomegranate), Hourglass (Icon)

I would 100% recommend this gift set, if you can find it. I love getting to sample so many colors and textures of lip products from different brands. I think I'm most interested in trying more of the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks, it was the only one that was matte (other than OCC).  I love matte lips, I think it looks super chic.

On the topic of matte lips, I was also asked about the Tarte Lip Surgence Gift set I got (still available at Sephora) . I'll have a post on those soon.
